    Check out Raaaaaaaandy at www.laughyourdickoff.com. He's a stand-up comedian who's a parody of stand-up comedians. Hysterical.

Brit Hume says the New Deal was a failure and FDR sucks. I say Brit Hume sucks and is a failure at not sucking.

    What if...?
What if tonight, after the election is over and McCain has between 270 and 300 electoral votes and wins the presidency, he pulls off his mask and reveals that he is really...Cheney? It's possible. We haven't seen Cheney much in public recently or in the same place at the same time as McCain, and Candidate McCain has been very different from McCain 2000 and the McCain we all thought we knew.

    I Have a Dream . . .
I just had a dream about the Electoral College. What a boring topic to have a dream about. Anyway, based on my dream, I predict the electoral vote outcome in the 2008 presidential election will be 270-268. (No, I don't know which number goes with which candidate.) I know the pundits are predicting a blowout one way or another, but this is my humble prediction. It's coming from my gut, just like Bush or Palin would do (the latter of whom, according to Bill Maher, "makes Bush look like a professor"). Hahahahahaha!

Aaah, life in the big city
I just went to D.C. for a seminar. The first day I was there, it was the middle of the day, broad daylight, and I was standing on a busy street corner with a bunch of other folks. All of a sudden, I hear and see a huge tall guy yelling at a regular sized lady and looking like he was about to hit her or rob her, yelling, "Fuckin' ho!" The lady shrieked and the guy backed off and walked away when she started retreating onto the street. One of the other ladies in the crowd gestured at her purse and said that if that guy had tried something like that on her, she would have unloaded her entire bag on him.

    Grindhouse
Grindhouse was disappointing. The first movie, Planet Terror, was good although it started off really slow. The second movie, Death Proof, was horrible in each and every way. The best part was in one of the fake previews in which Cheech Marin plays a clergyman. Another funny part was when about ten people left the theater at the end of the first movie. How could they not know that it was a double feature???

    Weird Al
Weird Al's new music video, White and Nerdy, is the funniest music video I have ever seen. I think the funniest parts are when he gives two African-American men two thumbs up and they both flip him off, and when he makes sweet, sweet love to bubble wrap.

This movie looks very promising. It stars Charlie Murphy's younger brother.

    Puddle Cruiser
When I went to Lafayette last month, Kevin mentioned that Broken Lizard had made a movie before Super Troopers called Puddle Cruiser. We went to Blockbuster and it was not for rent but for sale, and we decided that it wasn't worth buying. We were damn right. I rented Puddle Cruiser yesterday, and it sucked. I laughed in only one part, maybe two, and I don't even remember what it was/they were. The rest of the movie was utterly boring and crappy. I can't believe the difference in quality between that and their three most recent movies. Point is, I'm glad we didn't buy Puddle Cruiser, and I hope no one else wastes their time watching it. See Beerfest, though.

    Borat
The new Borat trailer that played before Talladega Nights is hilarious. Borat opens in the U.K. on November 3, but does anyone know when it opens in the U.S.?

    Mr. Bean
According to the internet (a series of tubes, as described by the chair of the senate commerce committee), Rowan Atkinson is doing another Mr. Bean movie, to be released in March 2007. Hooray!

    You, Me and Dupree
You, Me and Dupree was disappointing. I expected more from an Owen Wilson movie. Of course, it had good parts, but they were few and far between. I am beginning to think that I should have seen Little Man instead (with the Wayans Brothers). At least TV over the summer has gotten better. USA is showing new episodes of Monk and a new series called Psych, both good. Comedy Central is showing new episodes of Chappelle's Show. I did not think last week's episode of Chappelle was that funny at all. Hopefully tonight's will be a lot better. By the way, this is Black Expo weekend here in Indianapolis. People like Sidney Poitier, Chris Tucker, and Flava Flav (star of VH1's Flavor of Love) are in town. Flava Flav was even given an award, along with a bunch of people who work at local hospitals. Does anyone else see something wrong with this?

It has been brought to my attention that there was a scene in X-men The Last Stand after the credits. I didn't see it, unfortunately. In my previous post I wasn't referring to that scene but to the scene in the park with the chess.

The Breakup was good. Better than expected. Typical Vince Vaughn humor (e.g., Wedding Crashers). Not what you'd expect from a romantic comedy. X-men was good, too. I hope they make a spinoff based on the very, very last scene.

Just for fun, I was seeing what positions are open in the ACLU of Indiana and how much they pay. Only one attorney position was open--staff attorney for disabled people's issue. If you think about how many different groups of people the ACLU represents, and how many state ACLUs there are, that's a buttload of lawyers, especially for a non-profit. That's probably why the position pays only $35,000/year. That's not a liveable salary even in Indiana (49th highest cost of living in the U.S.). And for some reason, the position is for only one year. First of all, who's going to take a job for only one year, and second of all, don't disabled people need advocacy beyond the next year?

Thank goodness for the Real World and Last Comic Standing. Because of summer, there are hardly any new shows on TV. I hope Gabriel Iglesias does well. I've seen his standup on Comedy Central and it's hilarious.

There's muthafuckin' snakes, on the muthafuckin' plane! Yes they deserved to die, and I hope they burn in hell!

Did anyone else see that Superman commercial during the Simpsons? It was awesome; a lot better than the previous/teaser commercial.

    Playoffs
My firm has a suite in Conseco Fieldhouse, where the Indiana Pacers play. Last night, I used the suite for the first time. It was pretty sweet. Unfortunately, the Pacers lost, meaning their season is over. It's the fifth Pacers game I've ever been to, and it's the fourth one they've lost. I'd like to use the suite again (it's free); however, you have to use it to entertain clients, and I only got to go yesterday because another guy couldn't go at like the last minute. I don't have clients of my own so I don't envision getting to use the suite again for a while.

    Clubbing
My firm had a party at a club last night. For 95% of the time I sat in a corner with a couple other people and we just talked and let our co-workers come talk to us, whereas 95% of the people stood for the whole time and talked to each other. The three of us were too tired from work to stand. If last night was anything like true/non-work clubbing, then I don't care much for clubbing, because I'm sure we could have talked somewhere else, which wouldn't have required us to virtually yell to be heard. Of course, a non-club probably wouldn't have had an open bar, but it's not like that helped me. Anyway, afterwards we went out and had dinner at a pizza place that was open until like 3 or 4 a.m., which is late for a sit down restaurant. I made a lot of Simpsons references (and one Family Guy reference) which were big hits (it seems Simpsons/Family Guy references are always popular among people who get them). Two of the people at their wedding had Fry and Leela on their cake and had the Futurama theme song play when they entered their wedding reception. Last night was the first real fun I have had through work, and it's about time, because I have worked for almost 8 months now. Man do I miss school. Not that work sucks, because sucks would be too strong of a word to describe it. It's just hard work and it doesn't compare to school is all.

They need to stop making the Scary Movie films if they are going to be like Scary Movie 4. The best part of SM4 was the scene with Shaq and Dr. Phil. The Benchwarmers, on the other hand, exceeded my expectations.
